These Self-Care Rituals Are Loved by Nordic Strong Instructors

Some days start amazing. Other days, not so much. You wake up in a rush. There is a coffee spill here, then a traffic jam there. The day has not even started and things seem to be going sideways... We all get days like this, even Nordic Strong instructors, but the secret to navigating life is to check in with ourselves each day and give ourselves the time and space to take care of ourselves and our needs.

Nordic Strong instructors know that to show up as their best selves in the world, they first need to take care of themselves. And to do this, they practice self-care rituals.

There isn’t a specific way to practice self-care. It varies from person to person (because, in the end, it is about you and your needs), but if you don’t know where to get started, we got you covered.

Here are some self-care rituals that Nordic Strong instructors love:

Warm drink in the morning

Mornings are the perfect time to practice self-care. By giving yourself priority first thing in the morning, you will then have the mental space for everything else in life.

You can start by preparing yourself a warm drink in the mornings and taking the time to sit down to enjoy it like there is no rush, nothing else to do.

With this simple self-care ritual, you are not only giving yourself some time and space in the morning, but you are also stimulating your digestive fire, so it begins to wake up.

Give your body time to wake up

Another great self-care ritual loved by Nordic Strong instructors is to stretch in the mornings.

The body has been in a similar position resting for a long time, so just as it takes us a bit of time to wake up, we also need to give the body time to wake up before we go on with our day.

Stretching the body each morning before getting out of bed will help the muscles and the body function well during your day. Early morning stretches in bed will not only help your body feel renewed and open by releasing any tensions, but they will also stimulate relaxation.

Have a gratitude journal

Starting and ending your day with a gratitude journal is a self-care ritual that is life-changing!

Having a gratitude journal will take your attention away from the lack and the problems. It will re-focus your attention to the present moment and on what already is. And from this grateful state where you may also be able to experience clarity, you can make mindful decisions about your life.

Explore your creativity

It’s not all about staying active for Nordic Strong instructors. They also love to indulge in activities that are creative and bring them joy.

If you feel curious about drawing, why not give it a try? The way you explore your creativity will vary from other people. Tune in with yourself and follow that which sparks joy in you. For you, it may be writing, painting with acrylics, taking beautiful outdoor photos, singing, creating music… Whatever it is, make time for yourself to immerse in this activity and enjoy it.

Listen to music and dance

Dancing is such a fun and easy way to move the energy in the body and release some feel-good hormones. So, if you ever need a pick-me-up, play some upbeat music (or anything that calls you to move) and begin to move your body. Use your body movements to express yourself, how you are, and what you are feeling.

Life can be overwhelming when there are many things to take care of. But the most important person to take care of, if we want to show up as our best selves into the world, is ourselves.

Self-care is not about being selfish or overindulging in yourself. It’s about making sure you are okay first and finding moments where you can check in with yourself to meet your needs.

These self-care rituals that Nordic Strong instructors love to integrate into their day are simple and effective and do not require a long time from your day. If you don’t know where to start, these self-care rituals can serve you as a guideline.
